Privacy Policy
We collect as little information as possible to run the service, and we never sell it. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to ask us to delete it. If anything is unclear, email hello@sitelyncs.com.
01 Who this policy applies to
This policy covers two groups of people: clients of SiteLyncs (the businesses who hire us to rebuild and host their sites) and the visitors to those sites. SiteLyncs is the data controller for client account information. Each client is responsible for the content of their own site and any visitor data they collect through forms on that site.
02 What we collect from clients
When you sign up as a SiteLyncs client, we collect:
- Your name, business name, email address, and phone number.
- Billing information needed to process payments (handled by our payment processor - we don't store full card numbers).
- The content you give us to put on your site - text, images, logos, hours, and so on.
- Records of your edit requests and our communication with you.
03 What we collect from your site's visitors
By default, every SiteLyncs site collects:
- Anonymous analytics (pages viewed, country, browser type, referring URL) - collected by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track individual users.
- Server logs (IP address, timestamp, request URL) - retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted.
If your site has a contact form or booking widget, the information visitors submit there is sent to you (the client) and may be stored in our database for up to 90 days so you can re-download it if needed.
04 How we use the information
- To deliver, maintain, and improve your site.
- To send you transactional emails (receipts, edit confirmations, service notices).
- To respond when you contact us.
- To meet legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with marketers.
05 Third parties we use
The service runs on a small number of trusted providers:
- Cloudflare - hosting, CDN, SSL, web analytics, DDoS protection.
- Stripe - payment processing (we never see your full card number).
- Postmark - transactional email delivery.
Each of these has its own privacy policy. We only share what's needed for them to do their job.
06 Cookies
Your public-facing SiteLyncs site does not use tracking cookies by default. The client portal (where you manage your subscription and edits) uses a single secure session cookie to keep you logged in. That's it.
07 Data retention
- Client account records: kept while your plan is active, plus 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
- Server logs: 30 days, then deleted.
- Contact-form submissions: 90 days, then deleted.
- Backups: rolling 30-day window.
08 Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sitelyncs.com - we'll respond within 30 days.
09 Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypted backups, and limit access to client data to staff who need it. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and we'll notify you promptly if a breach affects you.
10 Children
SiteLyncs is a business-to-business service. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11 Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect.
12 Contact
Privacy questions, deletion requests, or anything else: email hello@sitelyncs.com or write to SiteLyncs, Alberta, Canada.
